Diet, CSIRO, Nature and
Funding
An article on the
latest issue of Nature (
The article
criticises the fact that a government-sponsored research organisation “endorses”
a scientifically controversial market oriented program and that the research
behind the book was largely funded by the meat and dairy industries, whose
products feature prominently in the diet.The scientists involved have their
point of view that Nature did not publish (see

Is this the outcome
of Government funds drying up and CSIRO becoming increasingly commercial, to the
detriment of its reputation, or is there another explanation?
