Στο πρόσφατο συνέδριο της International Biometric Society (www.tibs.org) που έγινε τον Ιούλιο του 2008 στο Δουβλίνο,  η κ. Ουρανία Δαφνή, Αναπληρώτρια καθηγήτρια  Βιοστατιστικής στo Tμήμα Νοσηλευτικής του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών,  παρέλαβε το βραβείο "award for outstanding dedication and exemplary service as Βiometrics Bulletin Editor 2005-2008".

 Θα πρέπει να σημειωθεί ότι η κ. Δαφνή είναι  «Member of the executive committee of IBS»  από την αρχή του 2008, κάτι ιδιαίτερα τιμητικό για τους έλληνες Στατιστικούς - Βιοστατιστικούς
