The International Biometric Society (IBS) is a worldwide organization that exists to promote and develop the use of biostatistical and biomathematical methodologies in the study of medicine, biology and agriculture. Members include biostatisticians and general applied statisticians, as well as epidemiologists, clinicians, biologists and agriculturists. The Society publishes the Biometrics journal and the Journal of Agricultural, Biological and Environmental Statistics (JABES) (jointly with American Statistical Asscoiation) of  which are of the leading applied statistical journals in the world, as well as a newsletter that covers the Society's activities and other notable biometric events around the world.
